Veneers are another way
of improving smiles and
the appearance of front
teeth. They are porcelain
and a simple explanation
would be they are not unlike
a false fingernail.
Depending
on the desired result
and plan the front face
of the tooth is gently
and minimally prepared
and impressions taken.
A temporary is placed on
the tooth and on the
return of the veneer from
the laboratory the temporary
is removed and the veneer
carefully bonded into
place on the front of the
tooth with a thin, flowable
tooth coloured filling
material. Done well they
look fantastic and are
very strong.
Often we would
choose to do a full coverage
crown rather than a veneer
because they are stronger
still.
