CONTEMPORARY DENTAL NEWS . . .

After a busy year in 2009, we have been accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons and are approved for work based training.  We have met the standards set by the Faculty of General Dental Practice (UK) to practice implant dentistry.  We were told “the assessors were impressed by the quality of your team and felt that paperwork showing compliance with current regulations was exemplary.”  So CONGRATULATIONS to our team and thank you for all your hard work.

EVENING APPOINTMENTS NOW AVAILABLE!

Dr Bob Brazenall has changed his working pattern, so is now available to see patients Monday to Friday.  We have listened to feedback from our clients, and he has now made evening appointments available (with parking!) on Mondays.

2009 FEES RETAINED FOR 2010

We are pleased to let you know that we have decided to maintain fees for treatment at the same level as last year.  We are committed to provide excellent dental care at affordable prices with excellent customer service.

We are nearing the end of another busy time here at the practice – we enjoy seeing so many of you each week.  Some patients have been with us for many years and Dr Brazenall is now seeing the children of patients who were children themselves when he first treated them!  It’s good to meet new patients too and we consider it a real privilege to see many clients gain in confidence as our skilled and experienced dentists restore their smiles.

Babies

Over the past three years, we have been amazed and thrilled to see seven members of our team produce beautiful bouncing babies - even our temporary receptionist who only joined us to cover maternity leave!  So many congratulations to Carolyn, Kirsty, Louise, Joni, Katie, Nathalie and Nina.

Congratulations to the rest of the girls too, who have worked hard and stayed cheerful through the changes in our team during this time – We are very proud of them all.

Parking

Just a little reminder that we are only able to offer very limited parking at the practice as we share the space with our neighbours.  There is plenty of parking nearby – just try to allow a little extra time to find a space.  If you are disabled or have mobility problems, please use the parking at the rear of the practice and ring the back doorbell.

Team News

Looking back over 2009, we have continued to invest in both the fabric of the practice and our clinical equipment to improve your experience of visiting the dentist.  We also continue to ensure best practice in terms of safety and infection control.

We continue to invest in staff training and our trainee nurse Jo completed her course and passed her exam in the summer of 2009 to gain her National Certificate in Dental Nursing.  She now needs to complete a little more time in the surgery to be fully qualified – well done Jo!

Nurses Amy and Emily will be looking to begin courses in Dental Radiography during 2010 and we are looking forward to Nurse Nina’s return to the practice in the Spring, after her maternity leave.

In September, the whole team attended the Denplan National Conference.  We had a fantastic time with really interesting lectures as well as two evenings when we had an opportunity to dress-up!

The fifties night was great fun and our girls did us proud with their outfits and their dancing – it was like being in an episode of “Happy Days”.  Then it was time to really put our glad-rags on for the formal dinner and entertainment.  We always enjoy the Denplan events.  They seem to achieve an excellent balance between lectures and fun, so we all felt relaxed as well as inspired about our profession.

And Finally …

Communication is such an important part of all our lives and time spent talking with our patients ranks high on our priority list at the practice.  It’s so important that clients have a real understanding of what their treatment options are and have the opportunity to ask any questions.  This way their choices are well informed and we have an excellent foundation on which to build our treatment planning.

If you are considering dental treatment, but you’re not sure of the way ahead, why not give us a call.  If you are already registered at Contemporary Dental, we are happy to see you for a review appointment.  If you are new to us, why not take that first step and call us.  You could pop in and say hello or arrange an assessment – we can be flexible, let us make the difference!
